I took my child out for dinner tonight to “Sushi no Kando.” My kid absolutely loves conveyor belt sushi (회전초밥).
Their all-time favorites are salmon (연어) and flatfish (광어). They firmly stated that they prefer fresh raw fish over those fusion sushi rolls… haha. They definitely know what they like!
Sushi no Kando is a very popular and affordable conveyor belt sushi chain here in Korea. Almost every single plate costs just 2,200 KRW (about $1.60 USD). Some premium items, like bigeye tuna, count as two plates stacked together, but the vast majority are the standard price.

The staff is always friendly, the service is great, and most importantly, the fish is fresh. If there’s something you want that isn’t currently on the conveyor belt, the chefs will make it fresh for you right on the spot if you ask.
Of course, it’s hard to compare it to high-end, authentic Japanese dining… (Oh man, I really crave expensive, high-quality sushi sometimes! 😭). But due to the economic downturn in Korea lately, those upscale luxury spots have become harder to find. Nowadays, you mostly see these franchise conveyor belt sushi spots in almost every neighborhood.
Still, places like Sushi no Kando are clean, pleasant, and offer consistently reliable quality and taste.
Today, my child polished off 12 plates, and I ate 12 plates too! The total came to around 52,000 KRW.
It was a very happy dinner date. Back home, we finished the perfect evening with some “bead ice cream” (구슬 아이스크림, like Dippin’ Dots) for dessert! 🍨

It seems like this is a unique menu item exclusive to Sushi no Kando. It’s my first time seeing this sushi, too.
If you visit Korea, I recommend giving it a try!
